Biography

Elena Polotskaia graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical University (MSPU) in 1982.

Elena worked at secondary school as a math teacher and in the research laboratory of socio-economic studies in the field of education of MSPU. In 1997 graduated in Education Science (M.Ed.) from Montreal University, she worked at elementary school as a counsellor providing a support to children having difficulties in mathematics.

From 2001 to 2014, Elena worked at CANMET as computer analyst. She obtained her Ph.D. in mathematics education at McGill University in 2015. Currently, Elena Polotskaia is a professor at Quebec University in Outaouais.

Research interests: elementary mathematics and didactics, preventive teaching, developmental education.
